What are dental implants?

Dental implants are made up of a dental implant post, an abutment, and a dental restoration. The dental implant post is surgically placed in the bone socket of the missing tooth. As the jawbone heals, it will fuse with the post. After the healing process is complete, an abutment is placed on top of the implant post. The dental restoration, which can be a dental crown, dental bridge, or dentures, is attached to the abutment.

Is root canal therapy painful?

Most patients say that a root canal is no more painful than having a dental filling placed.

What is halitosis?

Halitosis is the scientific name for bad breath. It can be caused by foods and beverages consumed, poor dental hygiene, dental issues like gum disease, and underlying health problems like diabetes.

What foods can cause bad breath?

When you eat, the foods are absorbed into the bloodstream and move into the lungs. This affects the air you exhale. While bad breath can be masked by brushing and using mouthwash, halitosis will last until the food causing it has left the body. The following foods can cause bad breath:

  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Cheese
  • Pastrami
  • Some spices
  • Orange juice
  • Soda
  • Alcohol
